The Big Picture: Actor Yami Gautam and director Aditya Dhar tie the knot

Weddings in India are quite an illustrious affair. From the biggest stars to the most successful entrepreneurs, almost every child here grows up with flowery dreams of a beautiful wedding tale. Getting hitched in a desi style is always lucrative! So let’s have a look at what the gorgeous actress

Yami Gautam and her husband Aditya Dhar, director of the famed Uri decided to do for their wedding. The stars tied the knot on Friday in the pretty town of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and posted candid pictures of the ceremony with the backdrop of gorgeous Himalayas. Netizens were all in awe of the pictures. All her ceremonies seemed very simple and traditional. The Haldi and Mehendi were one of such simple celebrations!

She was seen sporting a simple yellow suit for her haldi. She chose the ceremony to be absolutely homely with minimal jewelleries for all the pre-wedding rituals.

During the haldi Yami was seen flaunting floral jewellery – a Mathapatti made of pretty flowers and Churas that also came from similar flowers. It made her look very pretty and the idea was totally out of the box.

Pictures of Aditya Dhar from the pre-wedding ceremonies are yet to be seen but Yami sure has all our love. She also posted that they celebrated the wedding only with their immediate family and the entire affair was very private.

On the big day she was seen draped in a gorgeous red saree looking like a stunning bride! The saree was paired with spectacular jewelleries that were traditional but had a touch of the modern styling. She sported an eye-catching gold Maangtikka with multiple gorgeous neck-pieces and equally beautiful earrings. Like a traditional north Indian bride Yami also had layers of Kalire from her beautiful Churas.

Aditya Dhar pulled off a classic Indian Groom look. He was decked up in an off-white sherwani with gorgeous embroidery. The decoration from their set looked very traditional as well. They got married in the actor’s ancestral home in Mandi and the halls were adorned with floral decoration. They chose to go minimal with it and had simple lighting and floral arrangements.

We also got a glimpse of both the families, especially Yami’s lovely sister, who was dressed in a beautiful red suit during the haldi ceremony. The caption of her announcement photo read “Memories of a lifetime” and we certainly cannot agree more! All in all the entire ceremony was serene to look at and we surely adored the beautiful couple looking prettier than ever on their big-day. Big or small Indian weddings are always a gorgeous affair- indeed the “memories” to cherish for a “lifetime”
